An Innocent Man's Plea For Your Help
Hello,

My name is Edward L Wilkes and I’m in need of your assistance.  That assistance might come in the form of legal advice, legal help, phone calls, writing letters, monetary donations and/or words of encouragement. God willing your assistance will  help me gain my freedom by proving my actual innocence one day real soon.

A brief case history (State of Missouri v Edward Wilkes; Circuit Court Case No. 96-0608)

After two jury trials I was convicted of second degree murder, first degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.  The State of Missouri used one witness, with his split-second identification, and backed him up with their monopoly of professionals (police officers, detectives, crime-scene techs, ballistics etc) to wrongly convict me for this crime.  The victim’s (one witness) account wasn’t supported by any physical evidence, crime scene, or ballistics at the scene but with an indigent defense I was guilty before my arraignment.

I went on to appeal the conviction exhausting all available remedies (pro se) all the way to the United States Supreme Court.  Throughout the appeal process I learned how ineffective my trial attorney was, and I also learned that I’m not suited to fight the State of Missouri alone, especially while they have vast resources and finances.  Consequently everything mentioned above, coupled with me being indigent, brings me to this point where I’m summoning help from wherever it might come.  Situations of such severity call for measures quite uncommon but god-willing God will work through you in order to assist me in the plight of winning back my freedom.  If given the opportunity I will freely elaborate further and answer any and all questions you may have.

Thanks for taking the time to read my plea for help and feel free to contact me anytime at the address below.

God Bless

Edward Wilkes
